Yes…that’s a Ludacris reference. Some of you just sang it in your head. 😂
Bet you didn’t have Ludacris and Noah in the same blog post on your bingo card today.
But it got me thinking about following God…He leads. We respond. When He gives us direction, are we ready to move?
There is no telling what God might do…Be sure we are prepared when He moves.
For Dream City, this is very practical.
If God sends more people, are there seats for them? If families come, is Kids Ministry ready? If people get saved, are we prepared to disciple them? If dozens want to be baptized, can we handle it?
There’s a biblical pattern to it too.
Noah built before the rain. (Hebrews 11:7)
Joseph stored before the famine. (Genesis 41:34–36, 46–49)
Joshua prepared the people before they crossed the Jordan. (Joshua 1:10–11)
The disciples gathered in prayer before Pentecost. (Acts 1:12–14)
This past Sunday, I talked to Dream City about FAITH.
Faith is more than a good feeling or a prayer we pray.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (KJV)
And throughout that chapter, faith moves people to ACTION.
Noah BUILT. Abraham WENT. Moses CHOSE.
They trusted what God said enough to DO something about it.
Here’s a practical way to think about it…
FAITH = VISION + ACTION
You ask God for the plan…the VISION.
And when He gives you direction, you take the next step of obedience.
You may not see the outcome yet…but you trust Him enough to ACT.
Noah didn’t build because it LOOKED like rain.
He built because God SPOKE.
Our action doesn’t force God to make our plans happen.
It puts our trust in Him into practice.
We prepare because we believe.
We don’t have to see the whole picture to take the next step.
God, whatever You want to do…help us be ready.
And whatever You’ve already told us to do…help us get moving.
