HOWDSY Dream City…What a day!
WE HAD CHURCH TODAY!
I’m still thinking about the room…and our altar time believing God for TURNAROUND SEASON.
The presence of God was TANGIBLE.
I love that we get to make room for those moments. The Holy Spirit has permission to move at Dream City and I love when we throw out the schedule and just pray together, respond to Him, and let Him work in our lives.
And before service even started, Shepherd was singing into the microphone…I gotta say that was pretty adorable! Future worship leader?
We kicked off YOU ASKED FOR IT!
You supplied the questions. I supplied the extended director’s cut.
We made it through about THREE questions.
I planned to give you answers and apparently gave you Lord of the Rings…with the bonus features…somone said it’s my ADHD that cause me to feel like I need to over explain…thanks Kim…🤭🥹😂
But seriously…we laid some important ground rules and spent a good amount of time on the important things…
It was a GOOD day opening Scripture together.
Something I’ll explain more next week…
We can’t walk through the entire process of studying and interpreting Scripture for every question during a Sunday message like this…
Some of that studying needs to continue at HOME.
Open your Bible. Read the verses around the verse. Look at who’s speaking, who they’re speaking to, and what’s happening.
“Pastor Zac said…” or “Pastor Cara thinks…” shouldn’t be where your study ends.
We want you to know what the BIBLE says and grow in studying it for yourself!!!
Bring your questions and your Bible next week. I’ll bring my notes…and Kim can hold up a Netflix-style sign:“Are you still preaching?” 😂 jk Kim…
Next week we’re answering some REALLY important questions, and we’re going to try to get to as many as possible!
We’re kicking things off with questions about ALIENS and UFOs…
Yeah…it’s gonna be FUN. 👽😂
We also walked around a property and PRAYED today…and it was INCREDIBLE.
Being there and praying together meant a lot to me. I just feel like it’s important for us to always be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and to be obedient…
faith is vision plus action!
I’m so GRATEFUL for how far Jesus has brought Dream City.
Looking around that room today, thinking about the people, the families, and what He’s done…
I don’t want to get so focused on what’s next that I forget to thank Him for what’s right in front of me.
To our worship team, nursery workers, kids team, greeters, and everyone serving behind the scenes…THANK YOU.
Cara and I love you, and we love getting to pastor this church.
Meanwhile…back at the Coffman house…
The kids found a frog out front and a worm in the backyard this evening.
AT LEAST they’re playing outside….
Apparently we’re filming a low-budget episode of National Geographic.
Saylor is grossed out. She did not approve this wildlife documentary…
Griffin informed me there is no “WE” in waffles…and that he wants Waffle House...now I do too…mmmmmm… I love a pecan waffle…
I’m also trying to plan an at-home date night for Cara sometime this week…I’m thinking a picnic with some of her favorites and a movie after the kids go to bed.
With five kids, “after bedtime” is less of a reservation time and more of a prayer request…but I’ve got a plan…
And then there was THIS…
Wilder has been afraid of my closet because it’s so dark in there.
Hudson JUMPED in and told him he remembered being afraid of the dark when he was Wilder’s age….
So we went in there, and I got to watch Hudson do for his little brother what I had done for him so many times.
He explained that he didn’t have to be scared. Jesus lives in us…and He gives us the ability to TURN ON THE LIGHTS.
Man…
Watching your son take something you taught him and use it to help his little brother…that’ll get you every time….
Sometimes you wonder how much of what you’re saying is actually sticking.
Then you’re standing in a closet, listening to your oldest encourage his little brother…and you realize he was listening.
That might be my favorite picture to carry into this week.
Love y’all! PZ
Let’s bring LIFE wherever God leads us…and TURN ON THE LIGHTS!
